Hartley Reef

Reef break

The spot

Situated between Seaton Sluice and Whitley Bay, Hartley Reef is a very easterly exposed reef break, that breaks hard, fast and hollow. Come at a rising or high tide, as the reef is quite shallow otherwise. Accessible via the Old Hartley car park, and a short walk down from the cliffs.

As with most reefs, this is definitely not recommended for beginners.
