Harbour Wall
Most people end up around here - it's the waves breaking around the harbour and rock walls.
Tends to get produce some nice, long running waves that are perfect for beginners or long boarders.
The spot
On the edge of a quiet village, is Sandend bay - one of the nicest, mellow waves in the area. The bay is wide open to the north, but with the gentle sloped sandy bottom underneath, it typically produces some nice long running waves. Along with the 300m~ long rock and harbour wall, it can even get a bit of a point break depending on the angle.
Seems to have a nice local scene, with the surf school hosting yearly events and the Sandend Surf Club seemingly still operating around here. Even thought it's a pretty small town, it appears to still gather a good amount of external attention - if that isn't a good indication of the quality of the wave.
Seems to have a few rocky reef options towards the eastern end.
Suds Surf School operates a trailer at this beach, and does lessons and rentals. But let them know ahead of time.
