The spot
World-renowned spot, but really not for its looks.
Park up behind the farm buildings and you're straight onto one of Scotland's most powerful waves - a heavy right-hand barrel that breaks over exposed flagstone ledges. This reef makes it really not suitable for beginners, and I'd highly recommend only experienced surfers to head out.
An alternative launch can be done via the nearby pier, and paddle out from the slipway. Bathrooms can be found from this car park.
Showers are open to the public, courtesy of the North Shore Surf Club, from the "farm" car park.
