The spot
Farr Bay is a remote and scenic beach break along the north coast, in the Parish of Farr. Shouldered by two prominent headlands, the bay is shaped like a rocky funnel, where the waves gather and line up as they travel through it.
Due to these shoulders, tends to get a bit more protection from the winds, and can hold shape much better while still collecting a ton of swell. Tends to be a regular all-round beach break - with no particular tide preference.
The parking here is not on the beach, but just on the outskirts of Bettyhill, the nearest village. It's a short walk down to the beach.
