Tullan Strand

Beach break
About

The spot

Tullan Strand is a huge, very westerly exposed beach break. It tends to have something going on when other nearby spots are flat, so it's worth checking here first. Personally, I've seen this spot become maxed out, while nearby Rossnowlagh was in much mellower conditions, so that'd be your best backup.

Parking is on top of the cliffs too, which makes scouting the spot super easy. There's rentals happening from this car park too, with Bundoran Surf Co operating here, along with a few coffee stands during the summer months.

Typically quite busy, but since it's so huge, you can always just find a free spot further along the beach. The most popular line is the "First Peak", which is the closest break to the cliff. No other main named lineups here, as the rest is kind of dictated by the shifting sandbars. But there's always something free.

Works best on a low to mid tide, but can work basically all tides.

Lineup

First Peak

The busiest and most performance-oriented section, producing fast lefts and short rights with rebound energy off the cliff. Local and guide sources consistently place the main crowd here.
