Portrush West Strand

A popular spot along the north coast of Northern Ireland. Situated in the town of Portrush itself, this is quite a fickle beach break (as most usually are). Tends to be a bit more sheltered on bigger days, so it's probably a good chance here is much more suitable if East Strand is maxing out.

It's situated right inside the town, so rentals from Troggs surf shop can be carried through to this spot after a short walk. Toilets and paid parking right on the beach. No showers though, so you'll need to go back to East Strand for those. There's a few more surf shops here - as Portrush has quite a nice scene in it, so you won't be limited for options there.

Tends not really to have much of an ideal tide - I've found it really depends on which way the sand-banks have shifted, so you'll just have to try your luck.
