The spot
St. Combs is home to a massive, remote sandy beach. The Strathbeg Bay actually sprawls from St Combs town all the way to Rattray Head Lighthouse, but usually people end up surfing on the smaller section, that's boxed in by the rocky reefs. It doesn't get much crowds, so this is usually the best option as it's very close to parking. There's probably a ton of other peaks along this bay, but mostly get the same sort of conditions all over.
The town itself is mostly residential, and you won't get the usual amenities you'd expect out of a seaside town. I'd recommend heading back into Fraserburgh if you're looking for post-surf amenities, as I think this town only has a very small general store, and not much else.
Mostly a beach break, but there are some reef options offshore. Tends to work on all tides, but the reef might be better around a mid.
Car park here is free, but pretty small. It doesn't usually fill up, but you might get caught out of it's a particularly sunny day. You can probably park along one of the streets in the town, but they are pretty narrow - and tend to mostly be parking for the residents. So try be cautious of not blocking the roads.
